brady’s first day at preschool

so today, is brady’s first day at preschool. we have opted to put him in a little two day a week program at a church (emmanuel umc, noblesville), that is literally less than 3 minutes from our house. i’m not going to lie, i was pretty nervous about how the morning drop off was going to go…brady is pretty shy about new situations and was scared to death at the “meet the teacher” night. the progression of the pictures below is pretty funny. He was all smiles at home, semi-smiling outside and looking pretty sick scared at the classroom. we actually didn’t have any tears this morning, which was very encouraging! his best friend amaya, is in his class also…she was sooooooo excited she could hardly stand still. we are super excited for what this year holds for brady and think that he will eventually love preschool and all the activities. here are a few pics from this morning.

as a photographer, i truely believe in the importance of documenting moments…that being said, i many times find myself grabbing my iphone to capture quick moments and little videos. that is kinda sad to me, because an iphone photo will never replace the quality of a good photograph. so i keep challenging myself to keep my camera close by…because my little guys are growing up way to fast!

Saturday, i got home from a shoot and promptly grabbed my little man parker and plopped him in a bucket. he is 8 months old today, and we are coming to the end of him staying in one place. i want to remember this moment, i know most likely in a day or two, he will be crawling and we can’t go back. i honestly kinda want to tell him to stop growing up so fast. so, here is my little man parker at 8 months… of course, he really wasn’t staying in one place…he quickly realized that he could move the bucket across the floor by bouncing back and forth… oh well!

this past week we were hanging out on our back patio (where we spend a ton of time in the summer) and just enjoying the gorgeous weather. parker and brady were playing with brian and just having a grand time. luckily i grabbed my camera and was able to capture a few priceless shots of brian with his 2 little boys! this friday, brian and i celebrate our 5 year anniverary… 5 years ago – i knew he would make a fabulous father, but seeing it now is even more amazing. i love the 3 men in my life and am very blessed.

brady is 2 1/2 – and very anti camera at the moment…basically, i have to catch him in action to get any shots of him… he does not sit still

parker is 5 1/2 months – and just super happy, watches everything that his big brother is doing and almost has sitting on his own mastered

Brian’s MBA Graduation

So I take a lot of personal photos…half the time they just end up on my back up drive…I am not always great about sorting and editing our favorites…so this year I am attempting to sort them quickly and actually share some of them on my blog. So with that said, Saturday was Brian’s MBA graduation from Anderson University. I took the boys up in the morning for the hooding ceremony and then came back for graduation. they did awesome during the ceremony, well until the end, when it was silent and Brady yelled, “daddy is on stage.” Here are a few pictures from the day.

so i have been horrible at blogging the last few months. I swore, i would blog some during my maternity leave and give updates on our lives, but i didn’t do so hot with that. oh well. I am back in the office and shooting again, so i promise to actually blog again! here are a few pics from our lives recently. life is definitely interesting with 2 boys!

brian created a big fort for brady out of boxes that we received a huge shipment of canvases in. we definitely got a nice lifespan out of the boxes and brady loved his fort.

brady’s snow day!

so the other day, we got brady all dressed to go play in the snow…which by the way…took 2 full attempts (we learned that keeping a footed sleeper on under snow pants doesn’t work well…his feet wouldn’t go all the way into his boots..they kept getting stuck). anyway, he loved the snow – all aspects of it: from sledding, to eating it…to making snowballs to throw at mommy and of course being thrown into the air by daddy…here are a few pics from our first snow this winter!

so i am totally on a role blogging personal stuff today, so i figured i should get brady’s 2 year old pics up! actually, he doesn’t turn 2 until december, but this year we wanted some fall browns and not winter grey, so we just shot them a little earlier. for everyone that knows brady, this post will be more than fitting. in early october, brian and i shot a wedding out in california and brady stayed with both sets of grandparents….well the first half of our trip, brady stayed with brian’s parents and got to help with harvest. his week was full of riding in the combine and dump truck. needless to say, brady has been more than obsessed with “combines”, “corn”, “beans” & “dump trucks” (i hear those words probably a thousand times a day). we thought it was fitting to capture this stage of his life out on the farm. enjoy!

logan & brady – friends – 1 & 2 years

the other week when we were shooting some studio shots we decided to do a few quick pics with our son brady and our friends son logan. brady and logan are almost exactly a year apart…(2 days off) and we thought a few balloon shots to celebrate their upcoming birthdays were appropriate. brady loves balloons and logan wasn’t sure about them…here are a few shots of the little friends hanging out! (just think next year will be a zoo when we add in amaya and baby stump #2)!

noblesville portrait photography – brady & hunter

it has been awhile since i have posted any personal photos, so i thought it was time to grab my camera and snap a few of brady! yesterday, brady got some new garden tools and sand tools from his grandparents and he has been playing with them non stop. we created a little sand box in one of my big flower pots for him and hunter to play in. this morning (bright and early…before 8:00 a.m.) brady was waiting at the back door to go outside and play…hunter decided that brady obviously couldn’t dig without him! here are a few photos from this morning. by the way, i love love love the weather ;-).
